NSF-WFH
Wearing whatever the fuck I want to the office (my couch)
COVID did a number on us. We’re partying less. Cash is irrelevant.
Entire relationships begin, thrive, and implode in the DMs. But the one that’s most transformed my day-to-day? Working from home.
While some companies are clinging to their office leases, I suspect the return-to-office push is on borrowed time. Since 2020, there’s been an 89% increase in freelance workers in the U.S. alone. Even those of us in “silly little computer jobs” are rarely clocking in for five full days at HQ anymore. (aka hybrid.)
Generally, I’m into it. I’m more productive, clocking more hours, but somehow less burnt out. Still, there’s one thing I genuinely miss about office life: getting dressed.
Since 2020, my WFH fits have run the gamut—corporate cosplay, pajamas, and everything in between. I’ve done business on top, chaos on the bottom. (No pants, all Zoom.) But putting together a look was always a little ritual I loved. A way to add ceremony to the slog of commuting and remind myself I’m a person.
After reading Camille Muson’s Dress Well, Work Better, it clicked: I can still get dressed for work—even if it’s just to stunt on my cat and boyfriend at the kitchen table. And best of all? I can wear whatever the hell I want.
So here’s what I wore to WFH last week:
Monday
Woman Respecters (I hear this is what we’re now calling them and is almost an arguably worse name) but the classic tank—formerly known as a wife beater—is one of my forever staples. Chic, versatile, and perfect for dressing up or down. I love it paired with elevated textures: leather, silk, whatever feels fancy. This one’s from COS, that sweet spot of reliable basics that feel a little elevated. I have 1 million of this style of tank and I will probably buy 1 million more. I love a tank—sue me!
I styled it with my (knockoff) Toteme wrap skirt—okay, it’s Mango—they have stepped up their game! Add in (what I would consider vintage) Everlane flip-flops with bubble straps. Flip-flops are still divisive, but here’s my stance: wear them with something loose, not tight or mini. No Rainbows. These are my personal rules, take it or leave it. Here are a more exaggerated version.
Tuesday
Even when WFH, I honor the tradition of Casual Friday—just earlier. These are semi-sheer balloon linen pants that absolutely show my thong. I love a whale tail so heads up if that’s your thing too. They’re Zara sale bait (unfortunately) with elastic ankles (usually a no-go), but they’ve proven their worth: worn to a Beer Mile and still spotless. I’m tempted to grab the brown pair too. I don’t know what has taken over me but recently, I can’t stop thinking about harem pants. These are not them but they are balloon like with a drop crotch. I am still hunting for a harem pant that’s more 2009 Saint Laurent and less MC Hammer. I’ll let you know how it goes. Accepting suggestions too.
Paired with a vintage Yohji tank I got from my friend’s Y2K depop, Felt—beloved by the likes of Gabriette. Their curation is the best kind of oughts—slightly dark, sexy, and entourage-era-adjacent.
Wednesday
A perfect NSF-WFH fit aka this Vivienne Tam dress. It’s sheer, body-hugging, and ideal for an LA heatwave. I found it at Narro, a new Williamsburg vintage shop that had a rack of JPG so good it made me dizzy. I don’t wear shoes in the house (I’m not a monster), but I’d style this with my ancient but shockingly durable Zara thong heels. Similar here.
Thursday
I could get away with wearing this to a literal office. The asymmetric denim skirt is vintage Helmut Lang, scored on Depop but here it is on (equally surprising) Poshmark. It’s that perfect rinse wash that goes with everything but still feels special. The tee is Skims—big fan of their Shrunken Tee—and the shoes? Vintage Ferragamos. They’re the perfect blend of pointy and ladylike so they work with something just a little tough. Hard but soft 😇 They are generally easy to find on Vestiaire and Real Real.
Friday
I’ll admit this one is a little confused. 50’s bombshell meets mathlete teenage boy meets housewife? Idk I think it works. Hard to see here but my nipples are fully visible so I probably wouldn’t wear this Miaou shirt to the literal office, but the COS shorts on the bottom keep it grounded. They're meant to be high-rise, but I sized up to wear them low and baggy. These APC ones are similar and on sale. I got the halter also on sale and it came with a built in bra that I ended up taking out. I get what they were trying to do (y2k maximalism sex appeal) but it felt like I was trying too hard
Purse is one of my favs, Jil Sander, a gift from my boyfriend last year. I can’t find it online but it’s a simple but perfect leather tote. I’ll hunt it down and share a link soon.
Honorable mentions:
Workout fits - this one specifically is for pilates. Idk if I dare show you what I wear to run in.
Nothing that special here but I highly recommend styling your grippy socks with a loafer. These are vintage gucci ones that I stole from my boyfriend (oops!).
This whole exercise made me realize how little I switch up my jewelry. Daily rotation includes: Hernan Herdez (my favorite), vintage earringsfrom Assembly New York. I’m on the hunt though for more so send me recs!
WFH might’ve killed the dress code, but I like to think it just set it free. I need more inspo so what are y’all wearing at home?! Also I think I need to dive deeper on fav wife beaters—more to come soon.

Obsessed!
